While hanging out in Helen, Rob has decided to get parts of the trail done during the day. A little wet with all the rain, but better than carrying his pack and getting soaked without a way to get warmed up and dry.
The term "slackpacking" is given to those on the trail that hike portions of the trail then hotel it. With the winds, the rain, and the horror stories of hyperthermia and people stuck up in the hills, he chose to slackpack with some shuttle rides back and forth through Georgia. Sunday the weather clears up and he will keep on trekking.
To pass the time, he walked through the town to check out the history and found some interesting and beautiful things!
